I have already written with my concerns about this idiotic Golden Dome scheme of Trump's. Like all things he undertakes, it will never be realized and in the meantime, Canada will continually be milked for money and under threat from the US war-like attitude and our "threat" to Trump's insecurity. We have bought the Aussie over the horizon radar system. We participate in NORAD - enough. And no F-35s either.
What's even more scary is a US company applying for 77 Crown land leases on our west coast, all in remote shore locations. The reason is purportedly for a wilderness adventure type sites. This company does training for the US Navy and other military and corporate organizations but they don't disclose that. The company is National Outdoor Leadership School and the application number is 1412379. Comments are being accepted until Oct 5th.

These sure look like strategic locations to either establish a base for a trial invasion of the Island OR a way to install some of the Golden Dome equipment. There is no way in hell any group would need 77 leases to conduct training. The name sounds as innocuous as ‘The Heritage Foundation’. Who are these people and why are they really wanting these leases?

I am so sorry that the usa is being so evil and causing our fabulous neighbors to the north so much pain. I look forward to the day he is not heading our government - I really doubt that he will last 4 years but - sadly - he is still with us .... UGH - fingers crossed that he is gone really really soon!
I am with Charlie Angus on this. I think Carney has been ok on economics - I get that retaliatory tariffs hurt Canada also. But in foreign policy his grade is lower and declining. I doubt the golden dome is even possible.
McGuinty has started flashing on my integrity radar. This article and the recommendation of moving forward with the F35 opposed to the more appropriate and superior Gripen is starting to feel, to me, like someone has got to him. Is paranoia setting in or am I just over thinking?
That’s what I have been wondering and I know I’m not paranoid. I have never been as disappointed in someone I voted for as I am in Carney. His about-face worries me deeply. Elbows dropped like broken chicken wings, and he reminds me of Uriah Heep whenever he’s around Trump all deference and fake humility. I can only see two options - either someone got to him or he lied to us from the start.
Thanks for chiming in Nancy. I can see the potential cause for your disappointment but I’m not there yet with Mr. Carney. I still believe he will do the right thing and he’s playing Trump. This is complete blind faith on my part but I believe he has integrity and he will do the best he can for Canada. There are key issues that will indicate to me if he’s playing the citizens of Canada or Trump. Moving forward with the complete order of F35 is a solid tell in my opinion. If that happens McGuinty and Carney have been bought as far as I’m concerned. Currently though, I believe Mr. Carney is acting in the best interest of our beautiful nation. Here's some advice from a friendly Yank. I had some Army Reserve training years ago, so my military experience is limited. But what I have in terms of military knowledge, I give you. 1. Say NO to this insane idea of joining the US in a Golden Dome. 2. Adopt a Finnish framework for your military, where there is universal conscription into the reserves. That means every able-bodied male (or females, too) gets basic training after high school, about a two month process. This can be extended to six months, something that would allow for many recruits to get a specialty in certain combat arms related fields (which commonly take 3-4 months, give or take-think advanced infantry, artillery, armor, combat medics, etc.). This would give your country the ability to make an American attack too costly because of the massive resistance, the time it would take to subdue it- if it could be subdued- and the mounting resistance to such an attack among the American people (and possibly military). This is your best shot at thwarting the ambitions of our Mad Fascist King Donald, and it would help both you good folks as well as those us trapped here in the Occupied States of America.
