I want to thank you for supporting The Resistance. On June 8th I put out a personal appeal for financial support to help put the team on the road. The response was overwhelming.
A Note From Charlie
Sometimes people ask me, “What exactly is the resistance?” Or, “What is your long-term plan?”
Many agreed to go from unpaid to paid subscribers. Others offered an additional donation to support the work. This means a great deal to me — and the whole team.
But I want to say that even if you don't donate, we value your participation. The messages and emails that we receive from across North America give me confidence that we can push back the gangsters.
We're a small team working full-time to provide a vision of grassroots resistance and resilience. Some of that work involves research for the daily essays on the Substack forum. Jan, as co-ordinator, talks every day with folks from all over the world who are building local teams of resistance. Raul, our photographer, captures the moments and puts together the video pieces we share.
The recent financial contributions will help bring the Resistance Tour to Newfoundland (July), Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island (September), British Columbia (October) and many more locations from southern Ontario to Alberta.
We’ll be sharing event details with you as tour stops become finalized.
People have a right to be frightened as we look at a world on fire and the dangerous march of authoritarianism, but The Resistance is about building hope and action. Every day, I become more confident that we can resist the dark time.
