The United Nations and legal scholars widely condemn the US blockade and fuel sanctions on Cuba as illegal under international law. However, the United States maintains that its trade embargo and secondary sanctions on foreign energy suppliers are valid exercises of national sovereignty and foreign policy.
Except the embargo is killing people. And the government and the military are not harmed, it’s the people. Trump is attempting regime change but the people are in no position to change the regime. He has no moral justification to invade. But, his strategic policy is might makes right and the western hemisphere is mine.
That attitude, what he’s doing, his plans for Cuba, are no different to Vladimir Putin‘s attempt to takeover Ukraine to restore the Soviet-level era of greatness. Except for one reason which is that Cuba has never been part of America.

I don't know if you read Markham Hisplop's substack on energy? Apparently, everybody in Asia is turning away from fossil fuels because they feel the supply is unreliable after the Russian oil got cut off, and now the Straight of Hormuz. He is pointing out how well China is doing implementing solar and electrification, and their exports are generating billions a month. Canada needs a plan for clean energy and electrification, don't you think?
