While I am outraged and saddened by the depravity of the Trump regime and the callous acts of gratuitous racism and fascism, I am more troubled by the inaction of the ‘silent majority’ of Americans towards those behind these acts. Trump and his band of miscreants, morons, deviants and Dunning Kruger specimens are thumbing their noses at the Constitution and norms of democracy. I would have anticipated at a minimum protests in the streets, outrage and cries of foul from street corners in every corner of America but - nothing except social media stomping of feet. Is this how democracy dies - with a murmur? In silence as it were?

Will Canada succumb to this wave of bitter and ugly racists and right wing ideologues in silence? I worry for my country. I worry for my freedom. I worry that Canadians - the silent majority - will remain - silent.

This is horrific and very scary. All of Europe and NATO countries should stand up against this and not allow it to happen in any other setting. If the u s won't return the panels, then they should be replaced. If the US does this in the Netherlands, they're emboldened attitude will let them do in many other countries as well. We cannot let Trump rewrite history. When is the world going to wake up that we have a current day Hitler and it's not just a story.
