Hi Charlie, great song and video for the time we are in, and it seems that with every time of monsters Canadian artists are the ones who are not afraid to speak out. Neil Young came out with songs like Southern Man and Ohio and Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings had No Time and American Woman which were protest songs about the Vietnam war. Then a song that could resonate for these times with the genocide in Gaza and the West Bank and also the invasion of Lebanon by Netanyehu Bruce Cockburn has given us something that I'm sure has crossed our minds a few tlmes to stop all the crazies like Putin, Netanyehu, and Trump, ( IF I HAD A ROCKET LAUNCHER ). Music is universal, music is truth at times and what music gives us is hope for peace, as John Lennon wrote, " GIVE PEACE A CHANCE ". The Beatles Gave us REVOLUTION, and now you and your band has given us MUSIC IN TIME OF MONSTERS along with DO YOU WANT A REVOLUTION I'm thinking that all those songs are telling WE THE PEOPLE that it is time to GET UP AND STAND UP FOR OUR RIGHTS and not only that STAND UP FOR THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS WHO CAN NOT STAND UP FOR THEMSELVES. Before I mentioned Neil Young, he and Willie and John stood up and took on the plight of the farmer, Springsteen the plight of the working class and then we lost another one this past week in Dolly who put out millions to help the children to have a chance to learn to read and did things to help her home state. These musicians are people who believed in freedom in these times and they didn't do it for fame and glory, but because it was the right thing to do. I have written songs that no one has heard but a few friends and to me the musician and the song isn't important as what the words are saying, and right now in these times the words are what matter and I do believe that it is time for all of us like minded people of the world to stand up to the monsters and bullies and change the direction the world is heading and GIVE PEACE A CHANCE. In the BIBLE it says THE MEAK SHALL INHERITE THE WORLD, and I don't think it means the Christian Nationalist and the rich, I believe it is meaning the widows the orphans the poor the down trodden and and the hungry, for it is easier for a camel to go through an eye of a needle than a rich man to get into Heaven. I have finished with my rant and will end with this to my brothers and sisters in Canada and around the world, WE THE PEOPLE need to stand up for the oppressed and give mercy and hope to them all for it is now time for the people of the world to stand up and unite in a PEACEFULL REVOLUTION and give back a world of PEACE and LOVE cause my friends ALL WE NEED IS LOVE, love you all, Manitoba out.
I thoroughly appreciate your music and remember THE SOUND OF SILENCE by Simon and Garfunkel. It's definitely a protest song and so appropriate. Revolution is here.
ALOHA. From the COCONUT WIRELESS, island of Fire and ice ... ... MUSIC. It is UNIVERSAL.. ...Clam the Beasts... cools the jets... Stay strong, proud and loud Canadian resisters..
Take care to you and yours MR. ANGUS........................ ALOHA.
Thank you, Charlie and Co, even though I've left rock music behind since my mid-twenties in favour of strictly 'classical' music, I really do appreciate this, especially the focus on the grievous acts of state violence all around the world.
Yes, we're living with a monster south of us and he's doing us endless harm (and disturbing our complacency), but that's nothing compared to what's happening in Gaza, West Bank, Sudan, the Congo, Ukraine, and so many other places.
In this blessed country only the ongoing injustices inflicted on some First Nations (Grassy Narrows; ongoing clean water advisories - at least seven without any construction going on to improve things) come close.
Great job guys. The magic is in the music has hit the road. Protest songs have been resurrected to save our sanity. This will definitely leave me with an earworm. 👏👏👏 Thanks Charlie for sharing. Keep on rocking Grievous Angels. “Keep kicking at the darkness until it bleeds daylight.”
They came from the boreal forests, those taiga marchers. They came from the Cambrian caves, the fissures in the ground.
The itinerant life, TO bound. You know you have finally arrived, when you are seated at the Park Plaza, trying to believe these afternoon tea sandwiches are the greatest thing. You have discovered your fondness for AfterEight Dinner Mints.
The choice was yours’, Charlie Boy. And we are glad you chose as you did. The venues that you have yet to play. The glory, the adulation. Hell, someone may yet, buy you a beer. And the cover of the Rolling Stone.
I envy you Charlie, in a good way! You're doing what you love and sharing your thoughts with the world. Great music! I'm in BC ...unfortunately can't see you live but will be there in spirit!
Thank You CA & Team for your music 🎶 , talks, & history lessons you've given us & continue to do so. Thank you for keeping us informed & helping to keep our country together. 🤗❤️🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦💪💪👍
It's not surprising at all that music and activism or advocacy go hand in hand.
They often find themselves intertwined.
Love the Revolution album, got it a while ago to support the fight :)
Thank you for both your efforts in social justice and contribution to great music Charlie Angus, appreciate it!
Charlie is the coolest. Who can do politics and punk rock band at the same time.

From the comment by IM Citizen above…”Your music is our collective soul crying out for change!”
The words and video are hard hitting and true.
Thank you from a grateful American.
