Here are some questions:
Why are we using a technology imported from the USA, the country that would dearly love to own us, and has stated its intention to do so in policy documents?
Why are we making ourselves vulnerable both to America, and to the oversight of Peter Thiel, who — as you know — is opposed to democracy and wants authoritarian rule over the world? Not overstating. You know this.
And why are we trusting that a “subsidiary” will somehow ensure this technology will not be turned against us? Do we imagine there is no connection with the head office of this company?
This is supremely foolish. I would appreciate an answer from you. Even a boilerplate response; I am sure you are hearing from others about this. I simply cannot imagine how this is consistent with digital sovereignty, and am waiting with great interest.

Hi Charlie; to me the idea of an antichrist in these times could apply to any of the tec giants on the planet who's loyalty is to money and power. To them the idea of AI is to get rid of the working class that they have to pay and replace them all with robots where the total profit goes into their greedy pockets, but with the idea of AI though it could be helpful taking it to far could make it dangerous. Let's look at data centers, in places where they're already built and in service there are complaints of water air and noise pollution, and yes if you don't have the right power grids to run these data centers responsibly to protect the planet and the human race. Now back to the topic of the antichrist right now we have the orange faced buffoon in the white house doing his best to obliterate not only the US economy but the rest of the worlds, we need to remember that he and all of his people in government are all bowing down to the rich like Peter Thiel and more who back their political careers, and let's not forget that the buffoon is a sock puppet for Putin and Netanyahu. Let us get back to AI, I have mentioned before in comments about the age of robots and what it could mean for humanity in the future and I point to different movies for reference such as Isaac Asimov, I Robot, The Terminator, and two newer movies that I have watched Atlas and The Electric State, because of what we humans have seen is science fiction becoming reality. Think of over a lot of our life times we got the idea of cell phones and a lot about computers from a little TV show called star Trek, the science fiction becoming real is here folks, just take a look in this year we have a robot that ran a marathon race and came in well ahead of the human who won it, we have robots that simulate police dogs, and this all comes from the minds of the Peter Thiels of the world. Yes we have more than just Trump and his cult faction as one branch of the antichrist, you also have the rich corporations that fund him and the leaders of other nations who Trump bows down to. But my bet is that mother nature will say enough and we could end up either being frozen to death as depicted in The Day After Tomorrow, or be swallowed up by the earth like the movie 2012, cause you can have all the antichrists you want, if we don't address the enviromental problem it will end up being as George Carlin put it GET RID OF THE PEOPLE AND THE WORLD WILL FIX ITSELF, and with the things that are happening around the globe, that is what is going to be the end of times. I still haven't really understood what problem AI was invented to solve...seems as if it was something that developed and we are now looking for something useful for it to do. The idea expressed below that it gives access to all kinds of information at the touch of our fingers seems naive as already there are reports of deliberately wrong information being fed into its information base by the Israeli Gov in order to quieted criticism of its policy of genocide in Gaza. Reported by the Quincy Institute there is now a fake organization called the Hanover Institute whose task is to feed in incorrect information regarding Gaza. It appears with all the expected references and attributes of a real organization but it doesnt exist. If that is already happening now, how is it possible to trust AI in the future as the arbiter of truth? Check it out.
I am concerned that the government is NOT taking this at all seriously. Putting a journalist, perhaps a competent journalist, but someone lacking any technological or scientific qualification, to manage a file of incredible complexity based on higher mathematics, sends a terrible signal. It suggests that the government sees this as a public relations exercise. It is, in reality, the biggest scientific and technological issue facing the government!
