At a time when global instability is rising, you would think that it would be patently obvious that Canada’s longstanding tradition of international engagement matters more than ever.
The Cons seem to have sold out. They are so foused on all of the same talking points as Trump, they have clearly placed their bets on a multipolar world where we are subservient to, or part of, the US. They have latched onto not getting a quick deal (as if we didn't already have one) with the US as if it's a fault, while Carney has been making deals all over to make the US instability less harmful to us. Quite frankly, "who cares" was the right response - Poilievre should care a little less about getting a fast deal and worry a little more about keeping a good one (CUSMA) and shoring up our trade and security relationships with other countries. It's so good for Canada to have joined SAFE. It's a big deal.

I find it quite ironic & frankly insulting that MP Shuv Majundar, the Canadian born son of Indian (Bengali/Hindu) IMMIGRANTS, should criticize MULTICULTURALISM!!!!! Unbelievable!!!! I need to believe that in January, people will show that they can’t continue to have him in this position, and toss him out on his ass. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, and I’m not as knowledgeable as Charlie, but PeePee is being driven by someone much smarter (well, that could be a 10 year old child) perhaps Harper. I think he is benefiting in different ways, as is d. smith, one of them monetarily, and other ways.
It's all getting too scary. How so many Canadians can miss this is beyond me. Sure he has his base, like Trump, who are cruel and will support anything he says but what about the rest? How can they keep their heads in the sand? How can they not be aware of what is happening in the US and that PP is repeating the exact same thing that Trump did. Surely to god, we cannot be that stupid, that unaware, that cruel. Someone has to stop them. Where are the "real Conservative"? I know they exists and it's time for them to get a voice, a real voice and do something about this alt right movement that has taken over their party, before it's too late. I like to believe that Canadians are not as uneducated and gullible as the Americans - but I may be wrong. I long for the day that PP and his hate mongers move to Mar-o-Lago so they can get on their knees in front of Trump and his Nazis and pledge their fealty - at least that would be honest. Do they understand that the BIG American warehouse grocers companies like "W" (mart) and "C" (co) have Canadian meat etc. at prices lower than our truly Canadian owned grocery stores. Why is that? They are going after that market with their buying power . Young families in Canada are struggling to provide food for their kids have to swallow their Canadian pride. To the American companies doing this this is strategic in their quest to take over Canada.

My father worked for an American company back in the 60's until he retired. They constantly tried to bring in their American workers to have my Dad train them but he refused. After Dad retired they tried to hire him to go to work in countries that did not like Americans. It was dangerous for Americans to go to these countries.
This American company tapped into our market , built factories here and then eventually closed them down so they could do all that from the U.S. with American workers and undercut the Canadian companies

Last night seeing the head of the Department of War for the U.S.A. had used one of our son's favorite books and tv show character "Franklin" from his childhood as a "Christmas Wish" with a machine gun shooting people ...I got a sick feeling in my stomach.
You know the authentic Christmas wish is for "Peace on Earth and Goodwill to all men"?
This underscores the difference between our countries values and the U.S.A. that has existed in my mind since the Vietnam War draft that I protested against even though I was a Canadian teenager at protests in my own city to support American young people. Especially after the Kent State shooting of students protesting the drafting of young people in the U.S.A. for a war they did not understand why they were going there for?
Wake up Canadians we have kids that would become part of the U.S.A. Department of War if we let the U.S. take over our country . Then our grandchildren.
