I fear you are right, Charlie. I only wish I could come up with a solution, but we have been overwhelmed by a disinformation epidemic! The tyranny of capital will probably destroy us.
What a pity for Canadians to learn that our Prime Minister is only a man with feet of clay, . He has had such an opportunity to be considered among the best of PMs but he faltered in our times of need- faltered with pipelines, with clean energy, with his stand against his counterpart to the south. All he had to say was ‘NO’ on a few occasions. It is one of our more simple words, PM Carney- just two letters to remember. No prompting notes required.
But the good thing, Mr. Carney, is that it is not too late- start now, while having your morning shave if desired. Just remember, so many questions can be solved with just a ‘NO’. And it keeps getting easier after each decision.
2 fundamental points: 1. Republican policy is small gov’t. That means no federal social programs and they mean none as each state should take care of themselves. And 2. Deportation of all the farm labor, like USAID where JDVance and company swooped in, bought up all the farms and then “planted” Nazi So. Africans. Trump et al. rinse-repeat, but this time attack the 4th largest economy in the world by bankrupting the farmers.
No shorter way to enrich themselves and bankrupt the country, which if you haven’t figured that out yet is the point.
Thank you, Mr. Angus, for laying it on the line. What a dangerous and cynical tightrope we are walking: embracing pipelines for economic security on the one hand, with the certainty of our environmental destruction on the other.
PM Carmey isn't perfect, but I will take him any day over Trump and his constant lies. The man couldn't tell the truth if he tried. PM Carney got his Masters degree in Economics from Harvard and was also educated Oxford University . tRump got a business management diploma . PM Carney is far better educated and just more intelligent over all. Who bankrupts 6 of their own businesss and claims to still be a good business man? tRump . I remember tRump throwing rolls of paper towels to the people of Puerto Rico after their country was devastated in 2017. He said they "loved it" and they "were having fun" ...that's how brain dead tRump is and he hasn't improved one bit. Let's see what he does for Texas, it will likely be a whole lot more than he did for the Puerto Ricans, there are lots of oil rich people in Texas...you know... "his kind of people." The guy is selfish , blind to reality, has no common sense and is a few bricks short of a load. Canada needs to stand on guard, he wants our country, he's made no secret of it. He wants to get his grubby little hands on our natural resources. Canadians better start paying attention instead of thinking he's just a harmless braggart ... he's sneaky, dishonest and dangerous. Any Canadians who think tRump taking over Canada would be a good thing... pack your sh*t and head south, you're no Canadian.
I remember in the early nineties when Environment Canada 1st went online I would check the jet stream every day. It was a smooth line over Hudson's Bay all winter. I hoped it would drop south so we would get snow for snowmobiling in central ontario. Fast forward to the present and the jet stream has moved south and seems to stay further south all the time. It also is more erratic. I try to find info on it but no one seems to report on it.
Although, to be to fair to Canute, he knew damn well he couldn't control the tides. He did it to show his sycophantic courtiers that their flattering of him ("You are so powerful even the tides obey you!") was ridiculous. He was a lot smarter than Trump!
Yeah... Who knows if Carney wants another pipeline to increase oil production or to stop sending Canadian oil at a rebate to the US and at the same time shut off Albertan separatists. We know they are only about money and would sell their soul for it. In fact, they already have.
We absolutely need to divest from the US as soon as possible. That's probably as existential as fighting climate change. And it needs to be done in their face but at discreetly as possible.

There is also terrifying news from the Southern Ocean. The current there has apparently reversed. This might explain the starving whales that are beaching themselves on New Zealand beaches. Since there is really only one great ocean current, the effects will be felt everywhere. https://www.icm.csic.es/en/news/change-southern-ocean-structure-can-have-climate-implications

Keep up the wonderful work, Charlie.

Ted Cruze was overheard making a call from the plane inquiring if his boat was damaged!!!!!

Nice writing Charlie. The orange freaks cabinet idiots, are just that. Idiotic morons. He loves the chaos. Soulless heartless bastards
I appreciate your writing and note the vacant promises made over environment and climate change .
Carney has a lot on his plate to save and move Canada forward. Could you not meet with him to make your point? It would benefit all Canadians.

Like Suzuki I believe it's too late. Climate change is now in a self-perpetuating cycle, a continuous loop.
It will only speed up at this point.

These Congressfolk are just plain stupid. And we all know, you can't fix stupid.

We are in a game of reverse musical chairs. There are many players and very few seats. Some players are already in them.
