Trump can't pursue multiple foreign excursions and occupy multiple US cities at the same time. The cost would be horrendous, in all ways. Sooner or later, he'll come up against the realities of trying to create a dictatorship against an opposing population. Even if he suspends civil law and attempts to impose martial law, he won't be able to contain the entire population. Eventually, there will be a point where the military will have to decide which side they're really on. I hope that they come to the realization that their duty is to the constitution, not the would be Caesar. At the end of this nightmare, we'll either wake up to a rededicated democracy, or find that we're no longer the beacon of freedom.

Eerily echoes Hitler. White supremacy, twisting Christianity, eugenics, blitzkrieg of Poland, the list goes on and on.

This must be an AI picture, because trump does not look like this. He looks like a bloated rotten pig corpse that's had too many burgers.

“We must work to build alliances with other democratic nations in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. We need to establish the citizen’s volunteer force.”

Take out the word “democratic”. It sounds so feeble nowadays.

Is there andI audio to this?

He is also showing yet again that he will do anything to distract from the Epstein files. Since Canada lacks military might, this could be our weapon. Dig in, folks.

Trump’s statement that Greenland has 20 days to 2 months probably means they are less than two weeks away from an invasion. Trump lies.

Thanks Charlie. Idiot47 definitely thinks he the big man on campus and wanted to show it so bad. In my heart, I believe that the US Congress will finally grow a backbone, the military will say No and the American people will revolt - all sooner than later.

I do not mourn the fall of Nicolas Maduro; as disgusting and venal a human being as has ever (dis)graced the face of this Planet. However, the failure of the Trump regime to hand over power to the democratically elected Government in Venezuela is an appalling act of stupidity and, sadly, does demonstrate that this was not an act of national defence, nor altruism nor empathy with the Venezuelan people but the act of a gangster.

The fat that tis lunatic and his acolytes can even talk about Canada and Greenland in the way they have means that all sensible people must be ready for war with the USA. If he attacks, on any pretense, either of the two listed places we must band together and attack the USA in every way we have at our disposal.

The notion of big player, realpolitik is something we need to guard against, with our blood if necessary. Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba and other "stolen" countries in the Western Hemisphere is one thing but, any move outside that reasonable and beneficial orbit must be resisted. Last point, let the US attempt to steal the resources and they will find themselves all over the media, killing ordinary Venezuelans on the streets of the country and then the rewards will seem as booby prizes.

Yes. We need to develop the volunteer army right away. We need to have meetings to plan security tactics, communication strategies in the case of WiFi outages, etc. I will do everything possible to help.

Thank you Charlie.

Hi, Charlie - I couldn't find an email for you (but then, I am a bit of a technotard), so here is a copy/paste of the letter I am sending to you via snail mail. Long post.

Elbows up, and thank you for what you do!

Dear Charlie,

Forgive the familiarity – I have been following your substack since forever, and finally became a paid subscriber. However, I know you would listen even if I weren’t a paid subscriber. You are such a voice of reason in this insane world, and I thank you for everything you do.

This is a copy of a letter I have sent to Pierre Poilievre. It is all very formal and lovely; the next part is for your eyes only: the guy is a total twatwaffle.

I used to wonder how Nazi Germany and all the fallout from that happened. I don’t wonder any more, as we are seeing it play out in front of our eyes.

Keep up the good work, and thanks again.

Sincerely,

Jaini Clougher

PS – I was born in Thunder Bay, raised in Ottawa. Lots of relatives in Fort Frances, which meant our family drove about a zillion times from Ottawa to Fort Frances, always driving on Highway 11. I seem to think we had been to Timmins a bunch of times, but now that I look at the map, Timmins is a wee bit off to the west. Nevertheless, I can remember going through Timmins. Northern Ontario and Canadian Shield country are boss (I don’t need to tell you that).

Thank you again.

The Honourable Pierre Poilievre

House of Commons

Ottawa, ON K1A 0N6

Dear Mr. Poilievre,

I am appalled by your recent public post on Twitter/X, in which you lauded the illegal military operation by the United States of America in Venezuela. This was a clear invasion of a sovereign nation, and the kidnapping of the head of state of that nation.

Firstly, this flagrant breach of international law should not be condoned.

Secondly, the result of this, on a local level, will be to adversely affect the sale of oil and gas from the Alberta oil sands. People in Alberta are your constituents. Your job is to do your best to improve their lives.

Thirdly, it was highly inappropriate, not to say just plain rude, to publicly post before the actual governing body of Canada had responded.

Regarding the first point, flouting the rule of international law has consequences. Please read the history of events in Europe, beginning with the annexation of Austria, and followed by the annexation of the Sudetenland, invasion of the rest of the Czechoslovak republic, and finally the tipping point of the invasion of Poland.

President Trump has openly declared intent to annex Canada, Greenland, Panama, and now Colombia, Mexico, and Cuba. He has blatantly expressed that the United States of America should assert dominance in the Western Hemisphere. From the US National Security Strategy document: “The United States must be preeminent in the Western Hemisphere as a condition of our security and prosperity - a condition that allows us to assert ourselves confidently where and when we need to in the region.”

In light of this, your remarks are unconscionable.

Sincerely,

Jaini Clougher

PP is hopeless. He is a know nothing who spouts offensive BS without backing it up with considered thought, historical understanding and legal acumen. He's only ever wanted power without the responsibility.

DHS has the gall to say the Venezuelans already in the States should 'self deport back to home' when they have no home to return too. There's nothing but ruins, dead civilians and a replacement government that isn't any better than the then current one. Fucking hell does this make me well and truly disgusted with my home country, the USA.

Trump will not allow the midterms or the 2028 elections to happen. Remember what he said during the 2024 campaign? “You’ll only have to vote one more time.” He never intends to leave office. And the Republicans have been working for more than 40 years toward their goal of a permanent Republican majority. Even if elections happen, no democratically elected dictator has ever been removed from office via the ballot box.

Believing in International Law is like believing in Santa Clause or the Tooth Fairy - a childish pursuit.

"One of the founding principles of the UN is that it is illegal to use force against another nation without UN Security Council Authorization." When the permanent members of the UN Security Council, who all have the power of veto, are China, Russia, France, UK and the US, isn't this a somewhat redundant statement?

A tremendous article Charlie. Right on, on every point. This invasion is contrary to every American and International Law. The invasion was about the Oil and resources , and projecting a criminal act that can be repeated on any country, Trump and his Nazi colleagues are sending a blatant warning to us all. I was alarmed about your story of 2 Canadian journalists and our Canadian weak ,milquetoast media . They are not just naive, avoiding the reality of the times, but frankly cowardly. The audacity of Katie Miller ,is so outrageous. A Nazi Jew, I can't get my head around that. These Americans understand nothing of the consequences that they themselves have originated.

PM Carney must begin the 300,000 Home Army and must establish the military improvement and enhancements ASAP. Canadians must continue and add to our embargo of anything American. It's All Hands on Deck.
