Is the trump team behind the pause of tariffs in Canada? Premier. Smith told them to stop the tariffs in Canada, as they were helping the Liberals to get elected. Time will tell after the election

Charlie, NJ Senator Cory Booker is holding the Senate floor for as long as he physically can to speak on behalf of the American people. This is democracy in action and worth the attention!

He started earlier this evening.

I believe it is very important to write the narrative, and write it with ink on paper. By hand! The digital age will be lost along the way and the only documents of this era will be those that are on hard copy.

So get a journal and write out your impressions of this history that is unfolding day by day. Note pieces of your life and weather and anything that comes to mind. If we all do this and stash our journals somewhere safe, history will remember our version of this story.

History isn’t always written by the victors, it is written by those that are literate and creative enough to document the times is a solid form.

Wow! Quoting both Leonard Cohen and Antonio Gramsci a single post. That's a double-shot of wisdom. Love it, Charlie.

The municipal councillor for my part of Halifax posted today that Elbows Up, Canada! is coming to Halifax on April 6. Most of the responses were positive, but MAGA Maple is alive and well in my community. One negative response from an individual who is clearly unhappy: "Canadians have been manipulated for over a decade by the lying corrupt liberals. Using Trump as an excuse for everything wrong in Canada is their main election rhetoric. Hopefully people won’t forget how they were treated during the lockdowns. I for one will NEVER forget."

I, for one, will not forget how we were treated during the lockdown. I knew we had a government that cared about us. Our provincial chief medical officer was our own Fauci. And at the end of the day, the numbers don't lie. Canada's covid death rate was 2-1/2 times lower than 'freedom' loving Americans.

"Stop fearing the apocalypse......" It has been my observation that in times of trouble, people come together to help one another. It's nothing like what Hollywood would have us believe. But people supporting each other doesn't generate good box office receipts.

Case 1 in point: Here in Nova Scotia we are no strangers to hurricanes and grid down for days at a time. At those times, people with chainsaws clear damage for neighbours that are unable. People with mechanical skills fix generators that won't start, or loan out their generator to those that have none. People with food share with those that may have no way to cook. Neighbours and friends check on each other.

Case 2 in point: 2-1/2 decades ago, I was in a foreign country when it was attacked by its neighbour. Canadians, Australians, and Brits gathered at the British Embassy awaiting word on evacuation. Men, women, and children. Everyone very anxious, not knowing whether bombs would drop on them. But everyone pulled together and made sure that children were taken care of, that people had a place to lie down when tired, that there was a head count and organization. When we were eventually evac'd on a C-130 accompanied by a squad of British SAS commandos, some kind soul handed me his jacket to sit on, because my 'seat' was on the cold hard deck.

So stop fearing the apocalypse, because that's when the good in people really comes out. But let's rain down hell on the bringers of the apocalypse.
