Charlie, do you think PP will work with any other Party, would Trump? He reminds me too much of Trump! And, his new 'Canada First' BS slogan which he stole from Trump, is Trump! I agree that IF our Canadian Party Leaders could come together right now for the sake of our Country, it would be good for Canada. But, I also fear the CPC has swung too far-right, and will no longer work well with others. For the first time in a long time; if, and only if PP wins, I'm hoping it will be a Very Minority Government.

How refreshing it is to hear Charlie’s take on Parliamentarians working together to make Canada even better. We are in unprecedented times and novel approaches are needed to counter the threat from the south head on. I hope for a return to normal but I think the time has passed.

Canada needs to immediately begin a years-long battle to manage strategic national security issues until the recent trade tariffs threats and the political crises South of our border have been satisfactorily resolved.

Charlie, What can an individual do in the face of these global issues?

Please, when Mark is the new Priminister in March, Please, no matter what, Resume normal government ASAP! A NON-CONFIDENCE vote now would be a disaster for Canada… Trump, Fox News and Newsmax would play that soundbite non-stop,…. Let's not give them that.. HOPEFULLY by this fall Donny will be history! 🙏🇨🇦🙏🙏🙏

The lady in the second tower is exactly where we are. In Ontario we will be going to the ballot box in less than 10 days to vote for someone who was glad when Trump was elected. We need to get our financial house in order. The big question is who to trust.

So what happens to Canadian taxpayers when doge gains access to IRS databases? Many Canadian individuals and businesses file returns related to income earned in the U.S. What will the Canadian government do to protect Canadians data?

When it's too hard for people to normalize this, the next step will be calling it 'the new normal.' Equally damaging to do this, but they will feel like they've taken a 'smart' step to justify what is happening. We need you and people like you to not let others accept 'a new normal.' Thank you for all you are doing.

Charlie if you ran for the leadership of the NDP and one, you would be the next Prime Minister of Canada in a simple half heartbeat! Viva CANADA

Humans have a curious tendency to ignore gigantic threats on the horizon, even if they're clearly visible, under the assumption that as long as they see it coming they can avoid it when it arrives.

They then proceed to ignore the threat until it's too late to act.

We see it with climate change, we see it with the loss of democracy, and we see it with the prospect of global economic collapse. It's called normalcy bias. Until the damage is done, we assume that the world will just keep trucking along the way it always has.

We're good at reacting to things as they happen. We're absolute shit at recognizing when it's time to take precautions and prevent the worst.

That's what we're seeing right now. A lot of people are shrugging and assuming that the threat posed by Trump and his MAGA movement will only last four years, at max. Then he can't run for office again, and thus the nightmare is over.

Those of us who have studied history know this pattern for what it truly means; a seismic shift that will break a continent apart. Turn neighbour against neighbour, and kin against kin. The threat is here, it's at the door, and since we've spent a decade ignoring it, it's had more than enough time to build up strength and lay the groundwork for horror.

The question is, what are we going to do now? Fight, flight, freeze, flop or friend?

I say fight.

Many thanks to the Honourable Charlie Angus for authorizing for publication online, petition e-5345. It's now being examined by the Clerk of Petitions. I anticipate in short order it will be published so that we the citizens and residents of Canada may call upon the Government of Canada to:

Refuse Donald J. Trump entry to Canada until such time as he cease and desist making threats, or taking actions contrary, to the well being of Canadians, in particular to our monetary and sovereign security; compliance as a step toward overcoming his inadmissibility.

Lord knows we need more Charlie Angus. Keep speaking! More and more of us are paying attention. I am truly heartened to see Canadians pulling together. It's wonderful to see that when Canada's sovereignty is challenged that the numbers of Quebecers averring Canadian pride is increasing. I have never seen us all so united. Our Greens, NDP and Libs are uniting in defending our Country, and certainly there are some Conservatives who are also offering to be part of the resistance, though I do not believe that this is 100% party wide or that some of the support is not merely to win votes in the next election. I have my finger crossed that in the upcoming election we get more from our politicians than attack ads. We've seen how this and the derision it causes played out in our neighbours to the south. It is the perfect time to re-write politics in Canada and not follow and repeat the Americans. As our parties have hired US political advisors I've watched our elections deteriorate until I turn off political ads. The attack ads are not what our children should experience as "part of government", they are a blight on politics. How about each party having access to 'the books', then forming a platform, presenting and explaining the platform to us, at the same time explaining how you will pay for it? The we, the people vote for the platform we want, and by law the winning platform must be implemented. If we can't learn important lessons by watching the demise of the United States then we are bound to follow them into the abyss.

You are right Charlie. As a horrified and terrified American I can tell you that we don't have any way to effectively oppose what is happening, and in political terms it is happening at light speed. The democratic party is not up to this task, has known about Trump for the

better part of a decade and still has no plan. Merrick Garland, our Attorney General frittered away years pretending things were back to normal and Biden did nothing. Always with Trump you need to imagine the worst thing you can and your likely underestimating how bad he really is going to get. I applaud your efforts, but Canada better pull together quickly or suffer in ways you can't imagine yet. You can't believe how many overwhelmed Americans are rooting for you. Save yourself.
