Canada should split up. Maybe the US too. Face it, western culture has irredeemably split into two factions who loathe each other. The right wing doesn’t want to share a country with you any more than you with them. It’s time to partition western nations and allow people to migrate to the side of the divide they prefer.

The lies and misinformation are horrifying, but what terrifies me is the willingness to believe them by people who have never learned to think critically.

Carney being not an experienced politician may get fedup or call for election within nxt 15 months even when Conservatives may win that.

Alternatively, he may take decisions not good for Canada for long term.

Time will tell but yes we r heading towards a much bigger storm.

Thanks Charlie for such a great piece. Respect!

Standing still isn’t an option, and no matter how uncertain things feel, pushing forward is always the better path than letting morons like Daniel Smith and Preston Manning wreck our lives, communities, and Canada.

The resistance, in whatever form it takes, has to keep evolving, adapting, and staying ahead—because the alternative is simply unacceptable. Even when the pressure is immense, even when people are exhausted, the only way forward is to keep building, keep resisting, keep fighting for something better.

We've got momentum, ideas, and a voice that cuts through the noise—and that matters more than anything right now.

Good Lord, I would suggest a healthy amount of fact checking for this article. As for those terrible Albertans Canada should cut the province out of the country entirely. It would be the best for all parties involved. The Conservative party would have no base and then the rest of the country could live in peace and harmony.

Folks, one of the biggest issues is misinformation and also misunderstanding of the LGBTQ2S+ issues. It used to be abortion; now they have a new topic to trigger disgust and fear. What I think is we need to protect these folks first. We all can't fight all the fronts all the time. We need groups to take on specific issues.

Where are the liberal bot farms and troll factories directly going head to head with right wing disinformation? It is time for the pro democracy movement in Canada and the rest of the developed world to counter dirty politics with their own dirty politics. And Carney needs to not make the same mistake that other centre/centre left politicians have made by just playing with the edges of the system. Far right populism has succeeded partly because people want change. The change that is needed is change that will reduce income inequality and will protect democracy. That has to include fair taxation including a wealth tax, and the windfall tax that should have been instituted during the pandemic. There needs to be protection against big money and foreign interference in elections, and maybe it’s time for constitutional reform of the notwithstanding clause. This one thing is Maple Maga’s ticket to turning Canada into a mini fascist state.

It's a good one and reflects our fears right now. The nasty "take down Mark Carney" and "slice and dice Mark Carney" on socials is foreshadowing we MUST heed. Thank you for saying it.

Charlie, time to take a break. This was the biggest pile of dung I have had the misfortune of reading. You have descended into the Click Bait swamp Charlie. I had enjoyed your essays penned during the early days of the Trump Tariff…but this is just partisan self pleasuring. I will be taking a break from you…I suggest you would benefit from a hiatus of your own. Be well.
