I never wanted the Free Trade Agreement with the U.S.A.. 1987 I think. I felt Canada could do better. I was in tune with the Waffle in the NDP. Now that Trump is refusing to negotiate trade in good faith, I feel Canada finally has a chance to be more independent, trade with Europe and other partners as well as increase interprovincial trade. We are too dominated by our exfriend to the south. Thanks for doing what you're doing.
Our daughter's friend had to go to Florida a week ago with her partner and his son for hockey.
They witnessed an I.C.E. takedown of individuals . It was a very frightening experience for them and their children. Now Charlie, I just listened to your "news' about Kristi "lips" the U.S. homeland security (whatever) talking about how dangerous the Canadian border is now and also saw this reported on mainstream Detroit news from last week. Today, I have read many Americans are calling Alberta the new 51st state of the U.S.A. So the Christian Americans coveting our oil , and minerals didn't like the tax on the digital U.S.A. companies that made so much money selling to Canadians they began opening warehouses like Amazon here . Meanwhile ...our troops are side by side serving with their young people in very dangerous places around the world.
We have family members who are going to the U.S. with a child and I am now starting to get very worried for them. What do we tell our children when they witness these events and hear the news or read what Americans want to do to Canada "their" country and future?
Loved this issue, especially the cute drawing at the end by an 8 year old. Despite the threats, the darkness, the uncertainty, we need to stay hopeful and keep our sense of humour!
I'm thinking of the federally funded Unemployment Action Centres in the early 80s recession funded by the feds. Great places to gather, commune and organise.
We need youth action centres. The sea of grey can not hold up democracy forever. We will be gone and we are not getting any younger.
Try finding a job this summer if you are 16 and queer in Alberta. No support for youth. Smith's answer? Check it out. In this short clip she manages to blame families and youth, slag off public transport and promote gas guzzling for the middle classes.
As an U.S. citizen, Charlie’s writings, history lessons, songs and kindness that other Canadians show to Americans fighting back means more to me than I can express. It helps me to “kick back at the darkness” Thank you for bringing hope to some of the darkest of days. May God help us all… Elbows up! So much love to neighbors in Canada 🇨🇦
Please save a small spot for my husband and me…only 18 months to retirement.
Very much enjoyed reading comments from what I think of as "my people". I missed my Canadian visitors this year to Tucson but appreciate you staying away, please know that it's effective. I start my day with all of you, it gives me ❤️.
I have to say that reading these letters from everyday Canadians is one of my favourite things to do each week. To take heart in others' words. To know that people are taking action, not just in the store aisles (I see you people reading packaging and forgoing the carrots), but in other things as well. Making conscious choices about what to take in. Making conscious choices in what to support. Becoming vocal, even if it means never crossing the border again. This all brings joy to my heart. Canada may just remain strong and free for my grandchildren. Thanks, Charlie, for inspiring a nation!
I never was all that fond of broccoli anyway. And I do indeed take heart from each other’s words, just as you describe, Shay. And I am deeply moved by what grandmothers ( and grandfathers) are doing, all over this country. And proud. Very proud of Canadians.
We just returned to the US from two wonderful weeks in beautiful Nova Scotia. Although residents of Blue Washington State, we are reminded daily that we are now governed from DC by greedy, weak traitors and cowards. Thank you, Charlie, for leading the Resistance. You inspire and give us a needed kick in the pants. Love you from the US. Stay strong, stay safe.
I am encouraged by the growing number of Americans that are following this movement. Charlie, have you considered taking your message directly to the Excited States? What's that? You don't want to end up in a concentration camp in El Salvador or Sudan? Can't blame you. You're safe here. Please stay with us.
Dave, I would love to see Charlie in person. But…there is no way ANYONE from outside of the US should come here now. It’s too dangerous. Canada just lost a Canadian citizen in one of Florida’s concentration centers. It’s an abomination.
You must keep Charlie and your resistance members (all Canadians) safe.
Thanks, Cw, for reinforcing what most of us know to be true: NEVER GO TO THE US IF YOU ARE NOT SURE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO COME HOME. Listen up, Canadians, We have been warned time and time again.

We all just have to stay strong. But I'm going to tell you everyday is a struggle full of worry of what's going to be.
I'm very afraid we won't have an election because I don't trust anything anymore. Time will tell but all we can do is keep up the fight and hope.

My continued thanks, I cannot read US news much anymore. It’s so frustrating beyond words, and “I know all the good words.”

I always enjoy Voices of the Resistance.

Great reads/letters from one and all. There can be no let up.

I'm glad you enjoyed NS. It's been my adopted home for over 40 years.
