I have lived in Toronto's Jewish community along Bathurst, and I have worked in an Arabic company (they view themselves as a Muslim nation just like Israelites identify their religion as a nation), for over a decade each.
People and friends from both sides, Isrealites and Palestinians, who have fled the region and come to Canada to escape, have told me the same thing every time I asked: the middle East situation is a horrendous mess caused by BOTH Israel and the 'Cabal' trying to anhiliate each other.
This is why a religion should NEVER EVER be treated, or equated to being a governing nation. Because, when it is, the citizens excuse their criminal acts as being sanctioned under the eyes of their god, whatever that might be. And, then these dead locked tragic wars with incredible atrocities happen.
It's the same with the Christian evangelists in the states. Look at what that has brought into the world through the Trump regime. Politics and religion should NEVER mix. Politics is supposed to protect the practice of ALL religions as an arm's length independent agent.
Fortunately, the rest of the world is getting together and forming logical plans to protect itself against Trump. It's not being driven by a doctrine to shove some religious belief system down other people's throats. And, when the other side doesn't adopt or recognize the doctrine, to destroy them.
This isn't going to stop. Many have tried. Both sides have to want to stop, and neither of their religions allows them to. (and, I do realize the Muslim religion incorporates both Jewish and Christian teachings. But, that's not the point. Both believe they are acting on behalf of God and have his backing. THAT is what the problem is)
BUT, we cannot lose site of our corner of the world, despite how unfanthonanble the Gaza situation is. Trump is going to make a huge move in 13 days that will have serious global repercusions.
We have to be ready for that. If we are not, it won't matter what happens in Gaza and whether the killing there gets stopped.
I've been watching the AHC (American Heroes Channel) lately and the comparison between Trump & Hitler is truly uncanny. Right to the increase of military to the huge, costly parade with military (for his birthday no less). The decor of the WH to his Mar-a-lago home is the same as Hitler's. The constant need for idolization, the need to be the news at all times. The getting rid of anyone who opposes him, friend or foe. The annexation of Austria with Stalin's help and then turning on Stalin when he no longer wants to share obtained land with him...sound familiar? Now getting to todays point of genocide in Gaza... the Germans and even some of the military personnel didn't want the genocide of the Jews, the Gypsies, the Homosexuals, but felt helpless as to how to stop it without they, themselves becoming victims. We must help Gaza, We must help Ukraine defend itself, We must get the Republicans to Stop The Insanity by voting against this Orange Buffoon no matter the cost. Any Republican opposing Trump will definitely have a long career in politics for doing what is right. But the Trump cronies will definitely go down with him.
BRAVO! To your mother. As a grandmother I applaud you. My way is to give more $ to the organizations who are desperately bringing food to Gaza when they are allowed in.

Even though I feel it might be falling on deaf ears, I applaud these people speaking out against the atrocities in Gaza. Our government should create an embargo against any imports from Israel. Based on their actions, they’re the ones who don’t deserve a homeland!
If I lived in Toronto, I would be at those demos with your mother. I am waiting for our fearless leaders to speak out against the threats to Greta Thunberg from Lindsay Graham and that "human rights" lawyer.
