How can we citizens bring pressure to bear on the Ontario government to cancel the Starlink contract? It is unconscionable that the Province is doing business with Musk’s company.

Signed this and also the petition 5345 to prevent Trump from entering Canada as a convicted felon. Is it possible to also do a House of Commons petition (such as already on Change.org) to ensure that Pierre Poilievre finally does a security clearance?

https://www.change.org/p/demand-pierre-poilievre-to-undergo-security-clearance-for-national-safety

It is very concerning that he has not yet done one.

The political circus returned to Washington, D.C. after a four-year hiatus. H.L. Mencken predicted this encore engagement by observing, “Sometimes the idiots outvote the sensible people.” And thus we learned an important lesson… “Democracy is the art and science of running the circus from the monkey cage.” The oligarchs lounged in their stadium skyboxes mixed with selected political jackals and jackasses who looked down on the crowds of less fortunate plain folks. But the MAGAs had reached their heart's desire at last, and the White House was occupied by a downright moron.

"Canadian citizenship is more than just a status; it is something people work hard to earn. Our nation has been greatly enriched by those who chose Canada and work hard every day to build better lives for their families. They don't take this privilege for granted. We should not squander this privilege on those who undermine the very principles that Canada stands for. Canadian citizenship should mean something."

That paragraph describes me and my feelings, and that's why I'm signing. I *know* how fortunate I am to be living here.

I think it's relevant to recognize that Musk is following the Curtis Yarvin playbook.... look up Curtis Yarvin so you really understand Musk's US and global actions. He is trying to replace the government with a neototalitarian techno oligarchy. He is extremely dangerous and Canada would be wise to revoke his citizenship and ban him from your country. Otherwise he will buy whatever he needs to get into your government and data systems. Access is all he needs to destroy your government.

Prior to G7 Canadian Customs should say that a person having been found guilty and liable of sexual assault, fraudulent business activities and a felon is a risk to Canadian society and not welcome within our borders. That the US should send a substitute.

Perhaps sharing pics and records of like persons having been previously refused.

Let’s scrap the zero rating on export sales of _all energy. Let’s get the Feds to dump oil sands subsidies. And together with Alberta impose new percentages on extraction. Increase being split evenly between Alberta, Feds (carbon tax replacement and new tech fund) and coalition of cities for infrastructure renewal.

I understand why this seems like the right thing to do at this time, but I believe it sets a dangerous precedent. I do not believe that we should be considering revoking Canadian citizenship when we don't like someone's behaviour. I appreciate that Musk's behaviour is reprehensible, but it is a slippery slope if our citizenship rights can be revoked because someone (or a group of someones) don't like our actions. Our laws clearly outline the conditions under which citizenship can be revoked AND the process to do so https://www.canada.ca/en/services/immigration-citizenship/enforcement-violations/enforcement-violations-revoking-citizenship.html. To the best of my knowledge, nothing that Musk has done would qualify him to have his citizenship revoked. Perhaps the better option would be to highlight to President Trump that his "trusted advisor" feels it is a good thing to have dual citizenship - surely not a good thing when you are supposed to be all about supporting the US of A? Perhaps we can get him to voluntarily revoke???

Musk is participating in a coup of a (historically and still... for now) ally member of NATO. Wouldn't that be grounds for revoking his citizenship? If not, maybe it should be. I haven't heard whether South Africa has said anything about his citizenship there. Seems like he should be looking to gain US citizenship.

I agree with you Charlie but keep in mind that the Muskrat is evil and punitive. He will certainly punish Canada but that should not stop revocation of his citizenship. I wish that I had Canadian citizenship (my Dad was born in Nova Scotia but did not have Canadian citizenship - his Mom was dual with Canadian-US). Musk doesn't have any clue how lucky he is to have Canadian citizenship but he is so cruel and evil that I would boot him as far away from Canada that you can. US citizens are starting to hate him with a passion. Just be forewarned. For example, a civil servant here in the US wrote something negative about Tesla on X and Musk fired him from his civil service job. Forewarned can help you be forearmed.

Charlie, I heard mention of the petition on CBC Radio news last evening. I found the web page and signed the petition electronically.

For anyone looking, Google "Charlie Angus petition Elon Musk" and you will be directed to a Canadian government web page.

The petition is Number "e-5353"

Absolutely revoke Musk's Canadian citizenship. He is already backing Pierre Poilievre's candidacy for Prime Minister in our next federal elections. He is a danger to the world, not just Canada.

This is something I could support. I've already cancelled FB, Twitter (when Musk bought it), and would never buy a Tesla. If even five million Canadians did some of these things, they'd feel it. Fight with what you have control over; your $$.
