Isn't it usually the case that the bigger one takes over the smaller one? So the question would not be whether Canada should become the 51st state of the USA, but whether the USA should be allowed to become a province of Canada! (Even if nobody wants that) :-)
But seriously: As a German, I got to know a great country with lovely people during a vacation in Canada. It is not without reason that Canada enjoys a high reputation and a lot of sympathy in Europe. The same applies in South America. The USA has a bad reputation there.
The EU has concluded a free trade agreement with Mercosur, the common market in South America. This opens up many opportunities. Canada, the EU, the UK and South America form a market with many natural resources, a lot of know-how and over a billion people - more than three times as many as in the USA. In addition, Greenland, which is currently in the headlines, lies on the axis between Canada and Europe. I think that the Greenlanders would rather be an equal partner between peace-loving neighbors than a territory occupied by US troops.
The countries I mentioned have another thing in common: they try to avoid military conflicts as much as possible.
Perhaps we should see this weirdo in the Oval Office as an opportunity to reshuffle the cards.....
I would like to know where JD Vance’s best friend from Yale, MP Jivani is. He went to the inauguration to “support VP Vance and restore US/Canadian relationship”. Haven’t heard anything since. Is he standing up for Canada? I realize Vance has very little clout in the administration (Trump wouldn’t say he would be his successor) but it would be nice to know Jivani is trying to bring some wisdom and clarity here!
U.S. citizen here…We are no longer using Amazon…deleting those from fb who I know to be Trumpers. We have been buying Canadian for a few years…TruEarth and Open Farm. Will be traveling to Canada as soon as passports and visas are in place. Please find the video of Musk, his son and Trump in the Oval Office during the press conference last week…it had me roflmao!
As a convicted felon, the man in the White House should be denied entry into Canada for the G7 summit. We REALLY don't want him soiling our beautiful country. Can he be kept out?
